Black History Month is February 2021
, and there will be some nice surprises. I’m collaborating with WYEP management and staff to deliver some great content, both on The Soul Show and on the station’s weekday schedule. Also, you know that survey where I asked TSS listeners for BHM programming suggestions? Some of those ideas are being implemented. Thanks! More updates to come.
Also, remember the “Thanksgiving with Motown” special that Brian Siewiorek and I produced in 2020? We received great feedback. Stay tuned for a nice surprise in a similar vein. (In gratitude for our collaboration, Brian gifted me this Motown replica poster. Something on the Electric Basement Studios walls has to come down to make room for this beauty.)
On a separate note, next week’s “Soulshowmike’s Album Picks” in Pgh City Paper will cover The Soul Show’s Top Ten Albums for 2020. They were summarized at wyep.org, and this time I’ll be including more details on what’s special about each. It will hit newsstands on Wednesday, 1/13/21.
