Welcoming another new station!
Last night, the programming director of KCAW Alaska contacted me to say he’s picking up TSS on Sunday nights. More soul in the 49th state, on the heels of KRBD.
Meshell Ndegeocello, March 10
I don’t know about you, but I had some dead spaces to fill after the fact. The inorganic eighties music didn’t quite resonate with me, and the nineties were filled with responsibility and other miscellany. By the time I jumped into co-hosting TSS, there was much to catch up on, including neo-soul frontierswoman Meshell Ndegeocello. I finally saw her in the 2010s at Hartwood, followed by her appearance at City of Asylum’s Jazz Poetry series, where she performed but wasn’t featured. Last night at the August Wilson was the first time to experience her wit and charm in accompaniment with the wonderful performance. As far as the August Wilson’s main stage, it continues to reveal its warmth at just the right times.
