Pro Players at Golden Age, 7/13/24
David Avery stopped by my Golden Age Brewing gig a few months ago, and I pulled up his song “She’s Mine” for everyone to hear. After introductions to Pete the owner, David had a commitment from the venue for a summer evening show. At the time, David didn’t actually have a band at the time, but he pulled together a special one called Pro Players for 7/13: Miekal Brown, Ublai Bey and others who go way back together. They came out the gate with Joe Bonamassa’s “John Henry,” and all took notice. It was a solid night. I hope they return soon.
The Soul Pod welcomes Chamber Music Pittsburgh
Martha Bonta of Chamber Music Pittsburgh met me at 8am sharp on 7/15 for our filming of The Soul Pod. We did downtown to West End Bridge to West End to Southside to Smithfield Bridge. This weekend (7/20/24) on The Soul Show, let’s do an all-live set to celebrate summer. I know we’ve done sets and/or multiple sets within an episode, but this one is end to end after the Booker T. opening. I just finished the playlist. It should be pretty good. Broadcast times here.
