I was at Bernie’s Photo Center on Ohio Street this morning, picking up my workhorse lens after some serious maintenance, so I stopped by James Street to see how the rebuild is going. The craftsmen said they’re prepping right now for ingress to the third floor ballroom. That’s when I realized Deutschtown Music Festival is using the venue this weekend. If DMF wasn’t on your radar, visiting the old entertainment haunt is alone worth the trip. It turns out Kenny Stockard is playing there, so an old jazz regular of James Street will find some good R&B crossover to make the visit even more enjoyable.
