The Soul Show’s ‘Thx’ Special, + the new wkly GJ gig + a new vibe at Golden Age

This time of year, The Soul Show usually presents a show full of songs about gratitude, food and good will. For 2023, I decided it would also be a great opportunity for a themed special, namely the Jimmy Jam/Terry Lewis celebration that has aired over the past week. Why not do both, and why not dip into the recent archives?

While you’re busy enjoying the next few days, here’s a replay of the 2022 “Thanks” episode:

GJing at Lorelei, East Liberty

Join me on at Lorelei in East Liberty for an expanded residency – monthly Thursdays change to weekly Wednesdays. It’s more of the groovejaying experience, with an eclectic, exploratory mix in the vein of The Soul Show broadcast.

Golden Age, Homestead (note change in time)

My monthly gig at Golden Age hits the one-year mark right around now, and we restless sorts always think about positive reinvention. Starting in December, my GJ placement moves from the room’s rear corner to smack dab among the barside patrons. Also, expect some short set breaks where I explain the theming and flowing – not unlike what you hear on TSS episodes. December 9th will premiere the new vibe, and will move from early evening to mid-afternoon on Saturdays. The first theme will be a mix of holiday cheer and some previewing of the annual Top Ten Albums selections. Check the Golden Age website for exact time.
