I’m excited to announce that The Soul Show has been invited to participate in WIUP’s Vinylthon on April 20, 2024. What does this mean? Live at the university’s radio studio, all vinyl, aired on WIUP-FM. It’s been like over 12 years since I concocted a live all-analog (records, cassettes, reel-to-reel) special at WYEP. Does anyone remember that? Co-volunteer Dave Blaushild volunteered to co-host. We had a blast. This will be a blast, too.
Of course, we can’t just leave it at that. Why not inject some all-Pittsburgh segments into the episode? I’ll be checking inventory and asking area artists to send me vinyl versions of material.
