Over the past decade, The Soul Show’s origin city lost three venues important to my music discovery and enjoyment: The Rex Theatre, James Street Gastropub & Speakeasy and, very recently, The Pittsburgh Winery. In October, I’ll focus a TSS episode on the music scenes I witnessed at these gems of venues.
Those of you experiencing this from the outside looking in, it really isn’t outside, because we’ve all lost some great local locales (and wonderful hometown bands) in the brutal landscape. Time to look back and celebrate.
