On The Soul Show this episode, we honor two acclaimed artists: singer Peabo Bryson and composer/bandleader/producer/keyboardist Dexter Wansel, who mastered early synthesizers and introduced them to the Philly International label’s sound. Also, continued delves into 2026 offerings from The Nth Power, Jarrod Lawson and The Womack Sisters.
(for stations carrying Hour Three of TSS, we celebrate Bunny Wailer’s 1976 masterpiece “Blackheart Man,” which happens to be host Mike Canton’s favorite reggae album of all time)
A Big Welcome to KGLP in New Mexico
Really happy to announce that TSS locked in a first year with KGLP! They have been committed to R&B programming, and The Soul Show came to their attention earlier this month via PRX. To provide some additional support, some special announcements were provided for their June pledge drive.. more power to community programming all over the country.

The War & Treaty, Delfeayo Marsalis at TRAF
As an Advisory Committee member of the Three Rivers Arts Festival, I did survey work during Weekend One, On 6/12, I was able to catch one of the recommended acts listed in soulshowmike.org/POC. Delfeayo is on 6/13. Don’t miss.
Wingin’ it
Thanks to an old radio cohort, Abby Goldstein, I’m getting connected up with the National Federation of Community Broadcasters. Here are the new fridge magnets for their 2026 conference. I brought over some legacy biz card layout, changed the background and added a quick slogan that I think captures the TSS spirit. Like?
